This is the primary recording of the sequence played and quoted in court from trial bundle K3, tab 10. The excerpt begins about 6:05 into the archive recording and includes the “telephone-box” anecdote and the connected passages examined on Day 29.

Both excerpts come from the same 58:47 original recording and appear below in recording order. The second begins at 52:10.5 and overlaps the first by about 22 seconds, so that the Day 14 “necessary” wording keeps its question-and-answer lead-in.
Auschwitz-responsibility passage
Recording interval 51:28–52:32.9. The defence quoted this passage in its written closing and returned to it on Day 32.
“Necessary” passage
Recording interval 52:10.5–53:00.5. This is the statement Rampton put directly to Irving during the Day 14 questioning about race and antisemitism.
